Croatia now officially has the cleanest bathing waters in Europe, according to the latest European Environment Agency (EEA) report. The report, which assesses water quality at over 22 000 bathing sites across Europe, puts Croatia at the top with a whopping 95.7% of the country's bathing sites rated 'excellent'.
The exceptionally high standard of Croatia's bathing waters is a result of the country's strict environmental laws and extensive efforts to protect its natural resources. From the clear, turquoise waters of the Adriatic coast to the peaceful inland lakes, Croatia offers outstanding bathing opportunities for both locals and visitors from around the world.
Minister of Tourism and Sport, Nikolina Brnjac, commented: "We are extremely proud of this achievement. It is a testament to our commitment to preserving the environment and offering our guests the best possible bathing experiences. We hope this recognition will inspire even more people to discover Croatia's fantastic bathing sites."
Croatia's top ranking emphasizes the country as a top tourist destination, not only for its cultural and historical riches but also for its natural beauty and clean environment. Visitors can enjoy various activities, from swimming and diving to sailing and snorkeling, all in some of the cleanest waters in Europe.
